Strategic and Data Needs Assessment for a Community Information System (CIS) in Des Moines, Iowa

Description: The United Way of Central Iowa (herein called UW), together with other potential partners, have expressed interest in developing a community information system for Greater Des Moines metropolitan area. As developer of the nation’s largest CIS called SAVI (www.savi.org), The Polis Center conducted a strategic and data needs assessment with several key stakeholders during a 2-day site visit to Des Moines to assess needs, opportunities, and barriers to developing a CIS.
