GIS Peer Review of Electrical Service Area GIS Development

Description: The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) maintains maps and a database that defines the electric service area boundaries for municipal, rural electric cooperatives, and investor owned utilities. The boundaries change frequently and affected utilities must update the revised boundaries and provide the information to the IURC). WTH Engineering received a contract to convert the mylar maps and data to a GIS. The Polis Center provided peer review of the conversion process as well as quality assurance of the ESRI geodatabase.
