GIS Planning Assistance and Development for Best Practices for City GIS

Description: Polis provided planning assistance to help individual departments maximize the use of the existing GIS. The planning assistance identified the requirements to efficiently implement individual department data in a GIS format. The effort also identified short-term and long-term applications of GIS that assist each department in their efforts to maximize the efficiency of the performance of their daily functions. The results of the planning process were included in a GIS Strategic Plan for the City of Mishawaka Information Technology Department. The plan identified the strategic initiatives and the future direction for the City GIS. Additionally, Polis provided GIS education program assistance to include assisting with the creation of GIS databases
